Website Localization – the Right Steps to Follow

by Mike on June 5, 2019

Growing the business on a global level is the dream of any general manager. However, this process requires careful consideration and intense efforts on creating a localized experience for the brand’s customers. When you decide to localize your business, you will want to create comfort and convenience to your customers. Whenever your customers access your website, you will want them to feel comfortable and find the shopping experience familiar to them. On the other hand, if you create an awkward experience, your customers will look for a different experience in your competitor’s website.

How to Drive Traffic to Your Content

by Mike on September 25, 2018

Does your content drive traffic to your website? If your content is good, and by good, I mean top-notch off the drawer kind of material, it will bring more visitors to your online business. A single visit to your website is an opportunity for conversion, a lead that may turn out to be a customer. The more clicks you get on your site, the more sales you likely going to generate.

Contrary to most beliefs, you need not worry about producing new blog posts every fortnight. A single post is enough to boost your sales drastically.

What Does It Mean to be an Internet Marketer?

by Mike on December 22, 2009
in Internet Marketing

There’s no PhD you can strive for to be in the Internet marketing industry. You have to learn as you go – on your own – soaking up information along the way.  The first thing you need to know is what it means to be an Internet marketer, because it isn’t always clear to everyone.

Let’s start with what Internet marketing is not.  It’s not being a con artist. It’s not being a spam king.  It doesn’t just mean selling on eBay or having your own website and products.

In reality, Internet marketers can pick and choose from a whole host of options available to help them make money.  Your opportunities are virtually endless, and include one or more of the following:

  • Selling digital downloads (information products like eBooks)
  • Promoting other people’s products for a commission (affiliate marketing)
  • Selling on eBay or other auction sites
  • Running a membership site
  • Selling your online services (writing, graphics, etc.)
  • Owning a website that sells dropshipped or wholesale items

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Being a newcomer to Internet marketing, you might be worried that you don’t have anything to sell.  That’s okay – most people don’t start out with anything, and you never have t stock a tangible inventory if you don’t want to.

Internet marketing creates no gender or age boundaries for you.  There are teenagers who have launched multi-million dollar companies as budding Internet marketers whose ideas sprung to life and catapulted them to instant success.

You don’t have to do anything unethical or shady to succeed at Internet marketing, and in fact, launching a respectable business with a solid reputation is the secret ingredient that will allow you to hatch an empire on the ‘net to fulfill all of your dreams and those of your family.

Do You Have to Have Money to Make Money Online?

by Mike on November 17, 2009
in Mindset

The short answer is, “No.”  You can effectively launch an Internet marketing career without a single dime.  All you need is a computer and an Internet connection, which technically does cost money, but I’m assuming you have those two components already.

Many a marketer has gotten his or her start as an affiliate marketer.  Aside from shuffling around in your attic to find something you can sell for a profit on eBay, affiliate marketing is your best bet for a zero-dollar start-up business in the Internet marketing industry.

All you need is a free ID that you can get on PayDotCom, Amazon, Commission Junction, LinkShare, or ClickBank (to name a few), and the ability to learn about free traffic sites and you can begin generating an affiliate income without investing a penny of your own money.

That said, it’s best if you save a few dollars here and there to invest in some tools that are going to make your Internet marketing efforts a whole lot easier.  For instance, you could sit around and brainstorm for five days to get a list of keywords – or, pay for Micro Niche Finder and harvest thousands of keywords in less than an hour.

You could also use nothing but web 2.0 social sites that are free, such as HubPages or Squidoo, to host your content and affiliate links.  Or, you could pony up the $9.95 one-time fee for a domain name and $6.95 a month for hosting and have your own business presence on the internet.

You can also spend days and weeks searching for information about how to do a task that will help you make money as an Internet marketer – such as how to master pay per click advertising.

Or, you can invest in a step-by-step guide to shorten your learning curve.  What most marketers suggest is to take a look at your budget and see what you have to invest.  If you have to start out with nothing, go for it – but set aside a few of your profits to pour back into your online efforts.

Everything you’ll invest in is built to ease your workload and hasten the procedures, so your income will increase faster and with less input from you as you learn to wield these tools in your favor.

Well its been over a month since my last post here and this blog has suffered a bit because of it.  But I do have a good reason…

I’m a daddy again!  :)

Yup, my new baby boy was born earlier this month and its been a bit of a whirlwind.  Its been hard finding time to work and be productive, and since I’ve been concentrating on a couple of other projects too I decided to take a bit of a hiatus from this blog.

But I’ll soon be adding some new posts so check back soon!

PS – for all you trick or  treaters out there…have a safe and happy Halloween!   Save some candy corn for me!  ;)

How to Manage Your Aweber Lists For Maximum Efficiency

in Email Marketing, List Building

Last week Tiffany Dow and I were talking about the best way to manage our lists.  I had sought out Tiffany’s advice because she is on a similar path as me…but she’s a few miles ahead of me right now.  :)

Basically I plan to have a whole portfolio of digital products covering various marketing topics and I want to use Aweber to maintain my lists of prospects and customers.  I want to be able to stay in touch with people who buy one of my products so I can sell to them again and again.

Right now the only products I have to offer are my PLR article packs and my Yahoo Answers guide. But since I plan to add a lot more in the future I really want to make sure I set up the best possible system that will allow me to keep in touch with my customers [...] Continue Reading…

5 Tips For Effective Content Marketing

by Mike on September 13, 2009
in Article Marketing, Content Marketing

There are a lot of different ways to get your product, service or website in front of potential customers online. Marketing with content is one of the most effective ways to do it. Here are 5 tips to making your content marketing stand out from the rest and work in your favor.

1. Varying Media Types – Don’t just rely on one specific style of delivery for your content. While articles are very useful and the most common form of content marketing, using video, audio and holding teleseminars are all equally appealing options to readers. Some of these take a little longer to create, but they all have their advantages. Using multiple forms of content delivery makes it easier to reach a larger audience.

2. Social Networking – Social networking sites such as Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn and Digg are perfect vehicles to create your business networking contacts. You can link [...] Continue Reading…

Why Mini Sites Make So Much Money

Visit almost any restaurant, and you’ll see evidence of the increasingly common belief that bigger is better. Fast food restaurants zealously encourage their patrons to upsize their drinks and fries, and upscale dining establishments pile food high on their customers’ plates.

Many websites have taken the “bigger is better” theory to heart, too. Superstores like and Walmart have websites consisting of thousands upon thousands of pages. And they are doing quite well for themselves.

When there are so many large sites online, it may seem futile to try to get a piece of the pie. The average person doesn’t have the time or money to set up such an operation, let alone maintain it. But you don’t have to. A mini site can flourish in a land of Internet giants.

The reason mini sites work is because they do not directly compete with the big guys. Instead of trying to be [...] Continue Reading…

Balancing Work and Family

by Mike on August 13, 2009
in Personal

If you haven’t noticed, my posts on this blog have been much less frequent lately.   Part of that is because this blog isn’t a real money-maker for me…I have other niche sites that bring in steady cash so when push comes to shove they always come first.

But part of it is because I’ve been devoting more time to my family.  Balancing work and family is always a challenge.  If you’re not careful the scales start tipping too much in one direction or the other.

For me, I noticed I was spending too much time working and my family life was starting to suffer.   My kids missed play-time with daddy while I was too busy on the computer.

It’s an easy trap to fall into.  What internet marketer hasn’t pushed his family away so he can work on his “big project”.  And its all too easy to justify that attitude with the [...] Continue Reading…
